Hey!
So I was developing and have been developing using Eclipse for a long time. However recently the people over at jMonkey released an alpha version of there engine specific tooling - JMonkeyPlatform which is a netbeans based IDE.
It includes several optimised and impressive features such as
-Each day updating to latest engine code
-3D Scene viewer - Model viewer and particle affect manager
-Material editor
Therefore I thought id giv it a shot! I have now migrated my current environment over to jMonkeyPlatform and have been using it over the past 2 days. I have been fairly impressed with it - however it has crashed a couple of times etc. The main advantage im finding at the minute is its automatic updating feature. This is great because each night it will download the very latest jME3 (engine used to build WhiteRush), and all the very latest jMonkeyPlatform enhancements which makes it so much easier to stay at the very peak of the technology.
Will right a further post on my findings with jME in the future however, so far, so good. Better tooling. Better software :p
